My Hopes For The Zeitgeist Movement

Intro

Improbable as a world with no money may seem... it is possible, and that is what I try to focus on.  As a mother what else do I got?  My mom gave us religion as a hope and I am pretty sure many people hold on to religion because they feel the desperate situation we are in has no human solution so they look to God to either fix the problems here on earth or think after death then their spirit will live on in a perfect heavenly realm.  I try to teach my son that we as human beings are very intelligent and we are responsible for the management of our home, the earth, and its resources and that we need to take care of everyone on earth.  I know it may take some time for people to realize this but if we teach our children with complete confidence that this is the right direction and that not only is it possible, it is what we must do to survive and thrive as one human race then they will also have that confidence.

We do not want them blindly following some idea just because their parents do.  I constantly remind my son to question everything... teachers, friends, advertising, and me.  He does do this, last year when he was in 3rd grade when the subject of Columbus came up he asked his teacher if she could read from one of Howard Zinns books to the class since it was more honest.  She did not do that but I am sure it made her start to question what she was teaching.  I hear him and his friends talking about how it makes no sense that someone has a 20 room house if there are only a few people living in it while there are so many people that are without a home.  This is the most realistic way of thinking thats why I believe it has to keep spreading like it already has.

Money has been the root cause of so many problems.  Not only is it possible to live without it, it is beneficial.  We will be able to advance in so many new directions once money is not used.  It is exciting to think of the possibilities!
